Matt’s Mission working to end stigma of drug addiction, focus on treatment not punishment


(WTNH) — In the course of the pandemic, southern Connecticut-based Matt’s Mission, a corporation working to finish the stigma of drug dependancy, noticed an uptick in individuals requesting assist.

Matt’s Mission was based by Kathleen Dufficy, a mother who noticed her son Matthew lose a 12-year battle with dependancy in a drug-related accident.

In her daughter Kelly Barrett’s phrases, Dufficy took her grief and needed to show it into one thing significant and impactful.

Their message: that nobody is resistant to dependancy. Their mission: finish the stigma and disgrace. Their function: give attention to therapy and never punishment.
